It's not an everyday occurrence that I get asked to photograph a big family gathering (no newborn babies or small kids present!). This photo session was even more special as the main stars of the day - Janine and Don - celebrated their 30th (pearl) wedding anniversary. The photo shoot was gifted to them by their kids and what a fabulous idea of a present that was (and speaking of which, you can totally gift someone a photo session with me by purchasing a specially designed voucher - message me for more information)!
I met with the whole family on a very cloudy Sunday morning in their family home in Bexleyheath. The atmosphere was very relaxed whilst Janine and Don told me about their wedding day and showed me their wedding portrait (sadly, an actual wedding album couldn't be found anywhere). As the rain was forecasted, we quickly got outside for a little play of football with the dog Reg (such a gorgeous pup!) and a few group photos. But even the weather couldn't ruin the happy atmosphere as the family escaped the rain and decided to play a card game indoors - cue lots of giggles and joking around!
Alina is a wonderful photographer with a professional but friendly approach, which put everyone at ease. The resulting photographs are candid and natural and we now have a lovely album of family photographs to treasure.
